PHEAA UPDATE -October 2024
Greetings from PHEAA’s Pennsylvania School Services!
PHEAA News:
- Once we start receiving the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) completion data from the U.S. Department of Education (ED), and are able to extract the data for reporting we will have 2025-26 FAFSA completion reports available for you to view. If you already have access, you will be able to log in to your PageCenterX mailbox to see the reports. If you have not used these reports in the past and don’t currently have access, please notify your Access Partner and we will send you a remote access agreement to start that process.
- Last month, the PHEAA Board of Directors voted to expand the eligible programs of study for the Pennsylvania Targeted Industry Program (PA-TIP) beginning with the 2024-25 award year. This expands the list of 36 eligible programs of study by adding 19 new programs for a total of 55.
- Please share our resources page to parents and students about financial aid opportunities. They can watch PHEAA’s “how to” videos, access publications, and find other financial aid information. These resources are designed to provide information on the entire financial aid process, including FAFSA completion.
- Check out the additional resources for counselors and partners that help you to guide families and students through the financial aid process. Our toolkit includes social media posts, FAFSA-themed images, and links to help you promote the FAFSA to your students and families. Additional resources are also available to help you plan FAFSA Completion Events and Financial Aid Nights.
PA Forward Is Here to Help Future Students
It’s that time of year again when your seniors are applying to their postsecondary institutions. Helping students cover the costs of college is exactly why the PA Forward Student Loan Program was established. PA Forward is a loan designed specifically for students enrolled or plan to be enrolled in a degree, certificate, or diploma granting program. It is available for Pennsylvania students and residents attending an approved Title IV school in or outside of PA. For more information, visit //pheaa.org/PAForward.
Industry News:
November is National Scholarship Month! That means it’s time to talk about the importance of scholarships when it comes to funding a postsecondary education. There’s a lot of talk about the rising costs of college, but scholarships are a great way to keep those costs low. Encourage your students to visit our new Scholarship Toolkit to learn more about scholarships and the various resources to help find scholarships and awards to pay for school.

2025-26 FAFSA® Prototype
The 2025-26 FAFSA prototype offers an advance opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the 2025–26 FAFSA form user experience ahead of its release. The FAFSA prototype is not a complete replica of the 2025–26 FAFSA form that will be available on fafsa.gov. Instead, it’s a web-based design tool that allows users to navigate specific scenarios that many 2025–26 applicants will encounter on the live website.
To access the 2025–26 FAFSA prototype, visit fsaPartners.ed.gov/fafsa-prototype/2526 and enter the access code: prototype2526.
